Since we were faced with a few rainy days we wanted to take the opportunity for a nice outing yesterday, because the next couple of days I'll be walking around the neighborhood. (Looking out the window today confirms my fears.)

First we encountered this heron on a fishing trip. Very successful it seems.

As you can see, Tessa really loves the sand !
Mr. Budelheimer wasn't all that convinced of the water . . .

After the swamp bridge we went up through an alley of mountain laurels and after walking another hour along the trail, we reached the car. It was a really nice walk and the scenery was just beautiful.
